QuireInk

Privacy

What happens to your data when you visit quireink.org: very little.

Who is responsible

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to this website in full, also for visitors from outside the European Union.

Hosting

The site runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, which processes data only on the operator's behalf, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Its privacy policy.

The network in front of the site

Every request to quireink.org passes through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which delivers the site quickly and keeps attacks off it. To do so it processes your IP address and the technical data of the request; this may happen in the United States. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and bound by a data processing agreement with the EU standard contractual clauses. It may set a short-lived, technically necessary cookie to tell people from bots (such as __cf_bm); it holds nothing about who you are. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (the legitimate interest in a fast and safe website). Its privacy policy.

Server logs

No logs of page visits are kept. Error logs can occasionally contain an IP address; they serve only to find faults and are deleted after 14 days at the latest. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (the legitimate interest in a working website).

Cookies, tracking and third parties

The site itself sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, runs no scripts and measures nothing. Its fonts and pictures come from its own server, through the network named above; nothing is loaded from anyone else. Nothing is sold, shared or used to build profiles.

Links to other sites

The download and the source lead to GitHub (GitHub, Inc., USA). Only when you follow such a link does your browser connect to that site, and its own privacy policy applies there.

Email

When you write an email, it is used only to answer you and is deleted once it is no longer needed, unless the law requires keeping it.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 18, 20 and 21 GDPR). Write to the address above. As the site stores nothing about visitors, there is usually nothing to report.

Supervisory authority

You can complain to a supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Postfach 20 04 44, 40102 Düsseldorf, Germany, or the authority where you live.
